Who we are, and what these terms cover

This is the official site for the book KEYping BIZZee: Key Business Basics and for the one-on-one consulting offered by its author, Donald E. Stone. On this page, "Don", "we" and "us" all mean Donald E. Stone.

These terms cover everything you can do here: read the home page, read the consulting page, and send either of the site's two forms. By using the site, you are agreeing to them. If you would rather not, please don't use the site.

Consulting

Sending the intake form is a request, not an engagement. Nothing is booked, scheduled or owed until Don replies and the two of you agree on a time.
A consultation does not create an attorney-client relationship. Don is not acting as your attorney, your accountant or your agent, and he will not file paperwork for you or tell you what the law requires in your situation.
No result is promised. No filing, registration, business name or trademark outcome is guaranteed by a consultation or by anything said in one.
What you send is not confidential or privileged. Treat the intake form the way you would treat a first email to someone you have not met yet, and send only what you are comfortable sharing on that basis.

Intellectual property

You are welcome to read the site, link to it, and quote a short passage with credit. Reproducing, republishing or redistributing site content or excerpts from the book — in your own materials, in a product, or anywhere else — needs written permission first. Ask by email; the answer is often yes.

Acceptable use of the forms

The two forms exist so that real people can reach Don. Please keep them that way:

No spam or bulk messages. No advertising, solicitations, link-building or automated submissions.
Nothing unlawful or abusive. No threatening, harassing or infringing content.
Don't send other people's personal information. Send details about you and your own business, not about someone else.
Don't send sensitive data. No Social Security numbers, EINs, bank account or payment details. None of it is needed, and the intake form asks the same thing directly above its comments box.
You must be at least 13 to use the forms. This site is not directed at children under 13; please don't submit a child's information through either form.

Messages that ignore this may simply be deleted, and access may be declined.

Limitation of liability

This site is written in good faith and kept as accurate as we can keep it. Even so, rules change, states differ, and no general guidance fits every situation. The decisions you make about your business are yours, and anything important should be checked with a licensed professional before you act on it.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Donald E. Stone is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site, from the content of the book or a consultation, or from a decision you make in reliance on either.

Changes to these terms

These terms will change as the site does. When they do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page changes with them, and the version on this page is the one that applies. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
